Step 1

The WrapShield is easy to replace. It can be placed over the top of the old tubing, but we suggest to replace the old one completly.

All you need is a scissor, heat gun and a protective heat glove.

If replacing over the old WrapShield we recommend using a little bit of heat from a heat gun to re-form it before covering it with the new one.

If it is worn down too much, then heat it gently, and cut away with a pair of scissors. Make sure the material underneath is not affected. Put it flat on the ground, so you can cut along the flat side, to not affect the edges.

Make sure to use the heat protective gloves.

Step 2

Slide the new WrapShield in place.

Just short of the SafeConnect Carabiner.

Open the Velcro parts of the EasyConnect before sliding it in place, this makes it easier to maneuver.

Step 3

Apply gentle heat to shrink the tubing until you are satisfied with the fit.

The hot-air blower should always be in constant movement around the tube, be careful not to heat constant at one spot as this could cause local overheating of the material.

Start the shrinking process from the middle of the tube with constant round movements around the tube to achieve steady shrink.

The middle part of the tube should shrink down and stick closely to the fabric.

Shrink the ends of the tube with constant movements from the middle towards the ends.

The properly shrunk tube should be smooth, with no bulges and notches.

The adhesive should flow out at the ends of the WrapShield.

Use your hand and give it a squeeze to mould it in place.

Leave the WrapShield to cool down.

If too much heat is applied too quickly then you could crack the old cover and damage the new one so take it easy!
